European Conference in Hamburg

"Perspectives of vocational training for all - in the European field of Education" from 29.02.2008 to 01.03.2008

The one and a half-day "European conference on suitable measures and strategies in the vocational education and training" in Hamburg is a plenary event with specialised presentations from different European countries and six thematic forums running simultaneously. International experts from different European countries and Germany will hold presentations on the main points of the conference. The forums will be enhanced through complementary talks on the part of the transnational partners, who will address their respective themes from the European or country-specific perspective.

Main subjects

The creation of a European Qualification Framework (EQF) and the National Qualification Framework (NQF), which is based on it, require the exchange of the European trade unions.
The central demand on the German vocational education and training policy is to create finally a vocational training system that provides a valuable vocational training to all young people in both the dual system and in other learning places. The basic framework conditions are therefore to be created at all levels, e.g. concerning school structures, financing, training of teachers, curricula and organisation referred to learning.
